Being born and raised in Kenya, culture and the study of humanity has always been my inspiration. My beautiful country of Kenya has a diverse and unique set of cultural values and a heritage drawn from 42 ethnic groups. This has inspired me to think beyond Kenya and Africa, anthropology with its origins in the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences has given me a global picture. I am inspired by language, specifically how different cultures use language to communicate their culture to each other. I have tried to learn a new language myself (e.g. English) but have had little success. Although it is a challenge to learn a new language, I believe that language is the key to bringing others together despite differences. ( lire plus...)
